Dante Basco and Radhaa Nilia at the 3rd Annual Filipinos in Entertainment & Media. #CreatingVisibility

The entertainment industry, particularly Hollywood, has been known to exclude other cultures and severely lack diversity. One example would be Scarlett Johansson, accused of cultural appropriation, having played an Asian character in the movie Ghost in the Shell. In this case, the studios completely eradicated the Asian character and made her white. That role was meant for an Asian Actress, and perhaps that's why it flopped so badly.

Sadly, incredible and diverse talent is looked over in the industry, especially in the Filipino community. I personally know dozens of incredible Filipino Actors and Actresses, but they have often shared their frustrations at being marginalized and the invisible Asians in Hollywood.
"Creating Visibility & Establishing Individuality" at the 3rd Annual Filipinos in Entertainment & Media.

It is a fact that Filipinos been one of the most excluded in the entertainment industry. So, I am so grateful to attend and support Filipinos in Entertainment & Media to get the word out about becoming more inclusive of ALL Asian races and the little-supported Filipino community, which is bursting with incredible talent. It's time for Filipinos' faces, voices, and talent to SHINE! Teaming up with Dante Basco for this revolutionary event. Let's bring more light to this important issue we need to discuss, which is, Inclusivity.
